A century-long yarn through history

This is how the carded Cashmere of excellence was created

The adventure of the Filati Biagioli Modesto company starts one hundred years ago with the desire and commitment to produce excellent quality carded yarns.

In the 1960’s, Modesto, a brilliant man with a passion for Cashmere, transformed his father’s yarn-making activity into what today is Filati Biagioli Modesto.

Feeling the need to be able to guarantee the excellence of his products, Modesto studies the world, the countries and the lands where the best animals are raised and where the best wools are made.

This is the beginning of his field research that leads him mostly to China and to Mongolia where he personally selects the best fibres by coming into direct contact with the breeders and with whom he creates long-standing and continuous relationships based on hard work and trust.

To this very day, the raw materials that are used for the natural yarns come from noble fibres: cashmere, silk, camel, angora, alpaca, flax and merino wool. They are all accurately selected and transformed entirely in Italy in order to guarantee Made in Italy quality.

Thanks to the passion and to the careful selection performed by its staff, through the years the company has become an inexhaustible hub of creativity that advances in step with the innovation and market trends that the world of high fashion and luxury demand.

At Filati Biagioli Modesto, the design of a new yarn is a very special moment in which the emotional aspect becomes the driving and creative force of the entire process.

The long-standing expertise has always been handed down from one generation to the next. Tests, mistakes and successes are cherished in precious files such as the Dyeing archives that contain tens of thousands of colour recipes.

The company’s constant growth has led the Dyeing department to become an asset specialised in dyeing fibres and yarn skeins and in dyeing and processing finished products, so as to meet all clientele needs.
